A short while back I was talking about new ideas for baseball cards. Well, Topps has come up with a pretty good idea that they’ll be releasing soon: Ticket to Stardom. In this release from Topps, you’ll find actual MLB game tickets. Pretty cool idea, huh?
They’re going to have ticket stubs from games, along with pieces of game-used material all in one card. I’m not sure if they’ll have ticket stubs from real old games, but it would be cool if they did. I’d really like to see a ticket stub and game-used material from the 1955 World Series that the Brooklyn Dodgers won. I’d pay some scratch for one of those cards.
In any case, in each hobby box of Ticket to Stardom baseball, you’ll find 20 packs with 12 baseball cards per pack (one of which will be a parallel card in each pack). In each hobby box you’ll find an autographed relic card, an actual ticket card with one relic and another actual ticket card with two relics.
Hobby boxes are currently in pre-sell for about $95. It looks like this new Topps release could become a favorite of baseball card collectors real quick.
