Do you remember the Topps Mini baseball cards? Topps had put out mini cards in 1975, but the ones I’m talking about are the cards from 1986. These Topps baseball cards were some of the more interesting cards Topps has ever put out. They measured about 2-1/8″ x 2-15/16″ according to the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards. There were a total of 66 cards in the set. The backs of the card were reminiscent of the 1984 Topps traded set which had the brighter pink backs.
The one drawback of these mini cards, and any mini cards in general is that they don’t fit in standard baseball card sleeves. So if you wanted to display them in a page, you couldn’t be sure that either a) the corners would get bent as they move around in the sleeve or b) the cards wouldn’t leave a bread-crumb like trail as they all dropped out of the sleeves if you carried your baseball card book somewhere.
Still they were a pretty cool variation to the normal Topps sets. Since they were cool and unique at the time I picked up several packs in the 80s. Not sure I’d do the same if Topps put out more mini cards today.
Do you remember these Topps mini cards?

I loved these cards, specially the 87 Topps mini!
Great post!
Yep, I remember them. Not a big fan but I do still have some.
When I was moving in 1999 these things were found in couch crevices, under plants and behind the drywall. They were everywhere but where I wanted them.
I hear you guys. Yeah, these cards were certainly interesting, but could be hard to find, especially if you placed them in pages within a card book, and sometime later you went to look for them. They may have mysteriously walked away on their own!
