Topps Big Baseball 1988-Style, Remember It?

Do you remember the Topps Big baseball card set released in 1988? Man, I thought those were the coolest cards. Apparently, you can buy a whole box of them on eBay for about a dollar now. I guess they might have been overproduced or something. Anyway, they had cartoons on the back, like some of the older Topps cards, but in color. The fronts were glossy and they held up pretty well. You can probably find a bunch of these cards in mint condition today. There is a good checklist and blurb about these cards on baseball-almanac.com

Here’s a photo of a 1988 Topps Big Box I still have hanging around.

I liked these cards and Donruss’ Action All Stars cards of the mid-80s. I have most of the set and still have a box sitting around somewhere.

Cool, man. I didn’t recall the Action All Star cards, but I just looked ‘em up. Yeah, how about Sportsflics? Those were pretty cool 80s cards too.

  3. firstyear says:

I had so many of these. I remember having a million Mike Gallegos.
