The Philly Show

If you live in the Northeast, you’ve got one blockbuster of a card show coming up. The Philadelphia Sports Card and Memorabilia Show, otherwise known as The Philly Show, will be held between March 13-15 at The Valley Forge Convention Center in King of Prussia, PA.

This card show is a mainstay of the card collecting hobby for over 25 years. And this year it is under new management. Hunt Auctions has purchased the card show and will look to add to the show’s current popularity. They are looking to bring in some big names for signings (Willie Mays was mentioned) and the new location in The Valley Forge Convention Center should allow for growth.

There is an admission fee for you first timers, but it is a reasonable one. Seven bucks per day or 18 for all three days. Pretty good for such a large show in a major metro area. And here’s the best part: kids under eight get in free. So if you want to bring your young ones and get them interested in the hobby, you don’t have to worry about paying extra to get each kid (under eight) into the show. This is how it should be, to encourage parents to bring their kids to these shows, and to get them interested in our hobby. The only thing Hunt Auctions may want to consider is raising the age limit for free admission to 12 or 13.

I went to this show for the first time last spring (at it’s former home) and thoroughly enjoyed the show.

It’s good size so be ready for it. wear comfortable shoes.
