The Card

Have you had a chance to read “The Card”? This is a book I should have read some time ago, but I’m just getting to it now. Too many other important things going on. But, it’s a good diversion on train rides, and a very interesting read too. You have probably heard much about the Gretzky T206 Honus Wagner, either in the news or from other collectors. If you want the lowdown on this card, how it came about, why it sold for as much as it did (last sale – in 2007 – was $2.8 Million), and it’s travels through our hobby, this book will give you those details.

If you’re an avid card collector, you’ll find this book a quick read.  The author, who writes for the New York Daily News, has a captivating style that will have you flying through the pages of this book.

The Gretzky T206 Honus Wagner is the most famous baseball card in our hobby.  Hands down.  If you want to know more about it, you should probably read this book.
