First, let me say that I have no affiliation with the online stores I am about to mention. I have frequented their sites to check prices and have bought cards from them.
In an effort to help my readers find the cheapest places to buy baseball card boxes, I thought that I would provide them with the sites which I have found offer the cheapest prices on the net. These sites offer the cheapest prices from my own experience in researching hobby box prices. You may have had a different experience, and have found cheaper prices on the net. If so, please leave a comment here, with the sites you have found offer the most competitive prices.
The first site I find myself coming back to when looking for hobby boxes is Orange County Sports Cards. They have a wide inventory, and I really like the way they segment their card inventory. For each sport, and we’re really only concerned with baseball here on this site, they list boxes by recent year(s) and then upcoming releases. So, they will have links to 2008 boxes, 2007 boxes and then upcoming releases.
Along with a picture and description of the card product, a full list of highlights and a detailed breakdown of the boxes are included. The price is listed right there next to the product, and if there is a sale, the end date of the sale is listed. It also shows whether or not the product is in inventory.
All of this makes for one of the best online retailers for baseball card products, and certainly one with some of the most competitive prices. Oh yeah, they also accept PayPal payments, which is a BIG plus in my book.
The other online retailer I find myself at when researching cards is Dave and Adam’s Card World. They are one of the biggest retailers of baseball cards in the industry, and no doubt you’ve seen their ads in Beckett Baseball. This place has some of the cheapest boxes of cards that you will find anywhere.
I recently bought a hobby box of 2008 Upper Deck Masterpieces for the rock-bottom price of $61. They have a really wide inventory and you’re probably not going to find a cheaper price for a hobby box from a retailer on the net.
As far as the site itself, I do prefer the Orange County Sports Cards layout. It is just a bit more user-friendly and easy to navigate. Dave and Adam’s Card World isn’t a poor site to navigate though by any means. They also offer discounts and coupon codes if you’re lucky enough to find one. And they too, accept PayPal, as well as Google Checkout, I think.
So that’s it. Those are the two best places, with respect to price, to find baseball card boxes on the net (with the possible exception of eBay, but let’s save that for another post.) If you find cheaper prices from a reputable retailer online, let us know here.

Orange County has pretty good prices. There is another fantastic site though that I use.

They have a gigantic selection from all years/products, great prices, and FREE shipping if you order $100 or more. I have found boxes on there that you can’t even find on eBay anymore.
Yeah, that’s a good site too Charlie. I’ve come across them in my search for the cheapest hobby boxes.
