We’ll see our first baseball card release of 2010 in late January, when Topps releases it’s Series 1 Baseball, currently slated for January 27, 2010.
As Topps stands alone on top of the baseball card heap as the “only official baseball card of Major League Baseball”, it’s initial offering to baseball card collectors is much anticipated. In each hobby box you’ll find, on average, one autograph or relic card, and in each jumbo hobby box, you’ll find, on average, one autograph and two relic cards.
The design of these cards, in my opinion (because we know that card design is largely subjective), is one of Topps better outputs in recent years. The script team name writing and colored half circle border give these cards both a classic and modern look at the same time.
How much will you pay for a hobby box of this year’s first 2010 release? Well, a jumbo HTA box will run you somewhere near $95. Regular hobby box prices are all over the place right now on eBay, but some of the top online sellers have prices running a tad over $55.

I’m looking forward to this set!
Yeah, it should be a good one Matt. Topps is all alone this year for MLB licensed sets, so let’s hope they knock it out of the park, b/c we won’t have Upper Deck to compare it to.
