I recently purchased a box of 2008 Topps Allen and Ginter from Dave and Adam’s Card World. Couldn’t beat the price, I just had to buy it. I haven’t opened any of the new Allen and Ginter cards yet, so this will be my first. I’ve stuck to the traditional releases plus Bowman and Upper Deck Masterpieces. Anyway, thought I’d share with you the contents of each pack I cracked open in that hobby box. Here goes.
Cabinet Card Box Topper
Battle of Saratoga – Cool. I’m into the American Revolution so I’m happy with this cabinet card.
Pack 1
Lastings Milledge, Nationals, Card #248 – Would he be playing right field for the Mets if he weren’t traded?
J.D. Drew, Red Sox, Card #171 – Potential to be a triple crown hitter.
Nick Swisher, White Sox, Card #33 – The “Pre-Yankee” years. Who would’ve thought that he would be the stud acquisition of the off-season?

Aaron Rowand, Giants, Card #87 – Still remember that crash against the outfield wall against the Mets when he bloodied his face. One tough dude.
Bobby Jenks, White Sox, Mini Card #24 – My first A&G mini card. I like em.
State of Texas, Adam Dunn, Reds, Card#US43 – Any idea why these cards are thicker than the rest of them?
Jose Vidro, Mariners, Card #178
Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier, Card #232 – Remember the song? Davey, Davey Crocket……
All in all, my first impression of Allen and Ginter is that it’s a fairly nice set. Let’s see how the rest of the packs go. I’ll post em pack by pack.

If you get any world leaders minis, I’d be interested in trading for them. LMK.
