Remember This Baseball Card? 1989 Fleer – Mark Langston

Do you remember the 1989 Fleer Mark Langston card?

1989 Fleer was one of my favorite sets.  I remember buying a box of this stuff for about $15 when I was younger, trying to find a particular baseball card that became infamous that we will not mention further here.

This is one of the best cards in this Fleer set, in my opinion.  It’s a nice action shot, with Langston’s arms at 10 and 4, of one of the best Mariners pitchers of all-time.  Do you remember how good this guy was?  Do you?  How about 16 wins, 235 strikeouts in 250 innings and a 2.74 ERA during the 1989 Major League Baseball season?   In three of Langston’s first four MLB seasons, he led the league in strikeouts with 204, 245 and 262 strikeouts.  This guy could flat out pitch.
